As the owner and operator of Clean Sweep Professional Cleaning Services for over 20 years, Doug Moerschbacher began to notice an increasing demand from his customers for a qualified rug washer for their priceless oriental rugs.

Knowing that oriental rugs require special care, Doug began to learn everything he could about their care, provenance and value, and he soon fell in love with these masterpieces of textile artistry.

He quickly realized the need for a technologically advanced rug care facility in Central Pennsylvania and began investing in the specialized equipment and training. By 2012 the rug washing portion of the business had grown so much that Doug and his wife Amanda decided to spinoff the rug care division, so they could focus on the portion of the business that Doug was most passionate about.

Doug is so passionate about oriental rugs that he never misses an opportunity to further his education about what he calls "works of art that you can walk on". He has studied under Ruth "The Rug Lady" Travis, Jeff Bishop of Clean Care Seminars, Lisa Wagner of Textile Pro™ Network, and Aaron Groseclose of Master Blend.

He has the training and know-how required to evaluate the fibers, dyes, materials, and construction of each rug before attempting to clean or repair what may very well be a prized possession or family heirloom. His goal is to ensure that your oriental rug leaves Doug's Rug Care completely rejuvenated and restored to its best possible condition.

Doug and Amanda have been in the State College area since 1994 and they are active members of the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County. Doug and Amanda are proud of their community involvement and in 2009, Doug was honored to receive a Community Service Award from the Pleasant Gap Fire Company.
